  3. A fad is something that will have mass appeal from almost out of nowhere and die out just as fast. Fads are hard too see coming and once they start many different companies will try and recreate the product to catch the wave the fad is creating. A past fad is baggie denim jeans. Jeans like these were all the rage in the early 2000’s made popular by rappers. This year one of the biggest fads was pokemon go. When it released it made huge waves and almost everyone was playing it however after a few months the game has basically died off.

  22. Fads, can be described as a product or service that is hugely popular for a relativity short period of time and does not have a product extension path to develop itself for the future. They are usually directed purposely towards a certain demographic or group in order for the product to be as popular as possible. A fad usually is a product that is cheap and or in high supply which makes them sell quickly and at a low price that everyone will purchase without hesitation. A fad such as a tech deck for example, was hugely popular for my age group when we were in grade 4-6, and they were something that many boys (and some girls) were hooked on buying as they were entertaining and fun to fiddle with. They were a small skateboard that was controlled with your fingers and could fit into a pocket easily, and they featured many real skate brands that included signature styles and models from real life pro skateboarders. the small and portable size allowed for you to whip out your board in public and throw down some rad tricks in an instant! The types of Fads that people are attracted to change as they get older and things that interest them change. A fad from the now is probably Adidas shoes, as the Yeezys, Ultra boosts, and NMDs are all super popular shoes that everyone wants right now, they can be seen as a bit of a fashion statement or as a way of people simply trying to try and copy Kanye Wests style. I happen to have a pair of Ultraboosts however and they are the comfiest shoes that I have ever put on my feet, so props to Adidas for creating a fad that may last longer than others from the past.
