This week in class we looked at mascots. Our primary focus was on features of mascots, particularly those from sporting events such as professional leagues and the Olympics. Mascots, however, are used by a much wider variety of marketers, from a honeybee on Cheerios cereal to a red haired clown named Ronald for McDonalds. Your blog post task for this week is to identify a mascot that does not come from a sports team (and not Cheerios or McDonalds!), and describe why the mascot is effective (or ineffective). Try to choose a different example than your peers.
One successful mascot I can think of is Buzz from the Honey Nut Cheerios. It leaves me a good impression of the product and is memorable as well. Buzz is presented holding a stick of honey and putting it in the cheerio. It offers a very tasty and sweet feel and can leave a good impression on customers.

One mascot that I believe is very effective is the Leprechaun man on Lucky Charms cereal. The mascot’s name is Lucky, he represents a sense of luck and joy. the marshmallows in the cereal represents him being a leprechaun and that is his treasure at the end of the rainbow. This is an effective mascot because it gives consumers a positive view on the product.

My favorite mascot would be Pikachu from the Pokemon series. This is because I have fond memories of Pokemon from when I was growing up. He is cute and looks friendly. I think they did a good job making him the mascot because there is lots of room to merchandise the character.

A mascot of a brand will make the brand effective, for example The big white shark head t-shirt for Givenchy. It is a very popular and fashion wearing.

The mascot I chose is Mr. Peanut, he is the mascot for planters and is one of the most recognizable mascots around. Mr. Peanut has been around since the 1920s and even people who don’t know the brand name will know the mascot. He does a great job at representing the brand because of how many people will know what the brand is and what it sells. There are very few mascots that have lasted for so long and stood the test of time.

The mascots that i think best describe their product or the m&m men. These guys are not only colourful but are funny and draw in consumers. Because of them the business has grown, and more and more people are buying m&m’s. these men aren’t just for kids but are appealing to all ages.

The american franchise, Chick-Fil-A is a all chicken fast food restaurant. Their mascot is a cow and in every advertisement its their cows telling everyone to eat the chicken instead of hamburgers. I find this extremely smart advertising and it gets peoples attention and its very different from any other fast food place. Not to mention the food is too die for!

I think Chester Cheetah from Cheetos is a very effective mascot, since it attracts kids with its cool image and style, plus it makes the brand seem fun and daring, which is what they’re essentially trying to transmit the viewer. Chester also has a twitter page in which he is constantly updating the fans; this is a clever way for the company to use social media as a platform to advertise their product. Besides, he wears white shoes and literally nothing else, which I think is pretty cool.

The mascot I believe is the most effective is the gecko lizard from the geico commercials, as they are always funny and are always getting straight to the point about what geico wants you to know…”15 minutes could save you 15% or more on car insurance”. This is a memorable mascot because it is unique, wacky, and funny, as the lizard is usually the only one talking in the ad but gets the massage across still.

One mascot that i think is very effective is mr. Clean for their effective product the magic eraser.If you ask anyone who mr. clean is im sure they would know. It works for the product because he desses very clean.

Pillsbury dough boy is a highly effective mascot, especially geared towards children. He is sweet and adorable, and conveys the wholesome family values of the company. Personally, I can remember him from my childhood and to this day I have a positive view of the company because of him.

coco the monkey, is a pretty efficient mascot for cocoa krispies. it’s present in every cereal advertisement and kids love it. it is the main feature of the cereal box so it kind of identifies the product. he is always really cheerful ad friendly, he wears white and blue that are colours with trusting effects. kids find him really appealing and are always prompted to buy the product.

Michelin tire man was a effective mascot. Because of his features, he looked safe. people are more likely to choose Michelin’s tire. He look like a reliable mascot, soft and puffy. Michelin tire man is round which relates to what they are selling. When audience see him they think of tires.

An effective mascot that has been prominent in the food industry is the Fruit Loops Bird(s). This mascot is effective because by incorporating these bird characters into their commercials, they bring a story aspect to it. By making their commercials into a short video with a plot line, they can better appeal to children.

It appeals to its target market (children) because of the story line about a magical world behind it.Children love Mickey mouse and will beg for goods with his face on them. The Energizer bunny, Its pretty efficient, its been around for 27 years, Its efficient because it kind of represent the product, its always moving around showing the efficiency of the batteries. The colors are bright which gets the attention of everyone.

The mascot that i think is very effective is tony the tiger for Kellogg’s frosted flakes. This mascot is so effective because of what it represents. Not only are tigers super cute and bright it normally will be playing sports with a child for example baseball and soccer. by including the sports more children will be attached to the cereal.

Mail chimp: Site visitors are bound to be attracted by this well-designed delightful chimp that greets them on the very first page. Apart from that, this chimp mascot is illustrated in such a way that it roughly represents what the website is all about (i.e. email marketing). This is an essential component since the impression made to one will also provide information on the website service. People will then effortlessly remember what the website is about upon recognizing the mascot.

The mascot I chose is Tony the Tiger from Frosted Flakes. I believe he is effective because kids like the way he plays sports and does other activities with kids. The kids can also like the character because all of them like tigers, plus he looks like a big stuffed animal.
